Götz Beatrix Potter Collection

In the year 2001 Götz introduced the Beatrix Potter Collection - these dolls have clothing embroidered with Beatrix Potter themes.

So first I tell you a little about Beatrix Potter, who became famous with her illustrated books for children.

Beatrix Potter was born on 28th July 1866 in London. When she was a child, she and her younger  brother kept several small animals. They had mice and rabbits and cats. One of their first rabbits was called Benjamin Bouncer and another one Peter Rabbit.

When Beatrix was 14 years old, she started to keep a diary and she decorated it with several illustrations. She observed nature and made descriptions of what she had seen, for she was fascinated by nature.

Beatrix was well educated. She often  spent her holidays in Scotland and she used to send illustrated stories to the children of her former governess - later she wrote her first books with her stories.

It was in the year 1890, when she first sold some of her drawings.
Beatrix Potter also started writing illustrated books for children. Her own pets as well as the animals, she discovered during her holidays in Scotland were often the topics of her illustrations. Her most famous book is called
" THE TALE of PETER RABBIT".

Beatrix Potter is known for 23 illustrated stories for children . She died in the year 1943.

Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail had bread and milk and blackberries for supper.
